"Few Notes On the New Law"
I think I better explain something regarding the previous post (just please note that this is just to give you the context of Florida legislature. it does not mean that I am justifying the decision).
As you may know, Florida has the highest population of Cuban immigrants, or as they call it "exile". Most of them are so radical in their views about Castro administration that many of the laws against Cuba have been passed with their support or even initiatives. For example there are those who argue the Cuban embargo, or travel restrictions that already exist for Cuban Americans (or Americans who may want to travel to Cuba) are a result of the initiatives form Cuban exile political activists. This might very well be the case with this new legislation. When NPR was reporting about this issue for the first time, they had some interviews with Cuban Americans and some of them really welcomed the new law. If you want to be elected in Florida, you should be very careful how you respond to your Cuban constituency; and as it is a swing state, it is really important for the parties to have their representatives reelected. However there remains a problem in this explanation. Why did they have to expand it to the sponsors of terrorism if it was really a concern for some Cubans. as they have had Country specific legislation before.
Anyway Right now there is a debate going on around this issue with opponents claiming first of all that it is unconstitutional (which considering the already existing travel restrictions for Cuba, I do not think will be successful), and secondly that this decision is out of the power of state and should be dealt with in a federal legislation. In fact they argue that Florida is overstepping its boundaries in meddling with Federal matters in its state legislation. Anyway we have to wait and see how it goes. The sad part is even some travel agencies in other states, such as NY, are now reluctant to sell tickets to Iran.

Why don't you book your tickets directly (such as on an airline website)? Why the travel agency?

First of all, whether you want to go to a travel agency or not is a different story. the point is you should be able to if you want to.
an also, you can not always find the cheap flights to Iran online.
