My little four year old asked me:"mom...how did we come on the earth?
من با اینکه می فهمم چی داره می پرسه، مثل سیاست مدارا خودم رو می زنم به اون راه و می گم: تو از توی دل من اومدی.
I pretend I don't know exactly what he means and say:you cam out of my tummy.
می گه: نه...منظورم همه ماست...همه ی همه ما....
He says: No...I mean all of us. How did we all come on the earth.
یه کم نگاهش می کنم. بعد می گم: خیلی خیلی سال پیش روی زمین آدمها نبودن و میمون ها بودن. بعد این میمون ها کم کم باهوش و باهوش تر شدن و آدم شدن (می دونم که جمله بندی احمقانه ای بود).
I say many many years ago there were no humans on the earth but there were chimpanzees. They got smarter and smarter and turned into humans (stupid wording I know)
ابروهاش رو می ده بالا و می گه: یعنی ما میمون بودیم؟
He raises his eyebrows and says: You mean we were monkeys?
می گم خود ما میمون نبودیم، ولی خیلی سال قبل آدمها میمون بودن.
I say, not us exactly, but the humans of many many years ago were monkeys.
می گه: یعنی وقتی پیش خدا بودیم میمون بودیم؟
And he asks: So when we were with God, we were monkeys?
و اینجوریه که می فهمی نمی شه هر توضیحی رو که خودت واسه راحتی قبول کردی تحویل بچه 4 ساله بدی!
And that is how you know you can not give the explanations you have settled for, to a 4 year old.
